YOUTH LEADER

TYPE OF JOB	Youth worker
WHERE	Leisure Centre, Southbroom Road, Devizes, SN10 5AB.
CONTRACT TYPE	Part-time
JOB DUTIES	The person must have a passion for improving the opportunities and outcomes for young people. They will co-ordinate the team of voluntary youth workers in planning, delivering and evaluating club sessions and should make a significant contribution to the ethos of the Club.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS	- Experience working with Young people: 3 years ‬
RESPONSABILITIES	Positively engage with young people and actively encourage them to participate in activities offered. Enable young people to take more control of their lives and make informed decisions. Liaise with other services where a young person may require additional and/or specialist support. Work within the Devizes Youthy guidelines and policies, including confidentiality, child protection and equal opportunities. Accurately record, monitor and evaluate work with young people. Manage the activities of the volunteer youth workers, including ‘in house’ training sessions. Work in partnership with other agencies in the provision of an interesting Club programme. Continually promote the Club to attract volunteers and process them in terms of DBS Clearance and mandatory training. Report progress (and any concerns) to the Club’s steering committee.

RESPONSABILITIES	• Maximum of 22 classes teaching per week • Lesson planning • Use audio / video materials in classes • Cooperate with TAs in ensuring the constructive communication and efficient operation of the centre • Attend centre social events
